Satellite TV

I guess most of you have televisions in their own houses. TV is one of the most must have appliance in every home. I just can't imagine our home without one. No Encantadia, no Mari-Mar, etc. We were subscribed to a cable tv service before but since our reception has been bad, we decided to terminate our subscription.

Jepoy suggested that we buy our own satellite dish and have hundreds of channels via satellite tv. Satellite TV is the same as Directv. It lets you watch hundreds of channels by just setting up a satellite dish. Direct TV has been around for years and have been providing crystal clear receptions to every American homes.

I've already told my mom about this and she's interested. Imagine, watching hundreds of TV channels via Directtv. I'm only after Discovery channels and maybe some HBOs too :)

Anybody using Direct TV here? Any comments will be appreciated.

Swap Mobile Phone Watch

Remember my post regarding Photo frame watch? I bet somebody drooled over that, including me. Well, I recently found out that there is something more high-tech than that. Introducing the Swap Watch. It is not just a watch but you can use it as your mobile phone with blue tooth just by inserting a sim on it. It also has a built in camera, and an upgradable memory card.

Cool gadget!

The tables have now been turned. The sWap Watch doesn't just double as a mobile phone - it's like having a multimedia centre strapped to your wrist, and all without the crushing shoulder strain.

Want to check your emails? Surf the internet? Listen to music? Take Pictures? Watch a movie? MAKE a movie? It does ALL of these. It's in danger of completely eradicating boredom, revolutionising every minute of your day into a potential fun zone. The next time you're stuck on the train you'll just need to check out the 1.5 inch screen on your wrist for an instant fix of entertainment that'll turn your commute into a pleasure cruise rather than a chore. The memory card slot allows you to insert a Micro SD card to upgrade the already impressive 512MB memory to a whopping 2GB. With all that memory you'll have no problem storing all the MP3s and movies you'd need for a short jaunt.

If you really get bored (and with this watch, it's hard to see how you could) you could even check the time (from one of the many different watch faces stored in it's memory) or make a phone call. The watch will accept most SIM cards, so upgrading is hassle free and making calls couldn't be simpler - just plug in the hands free kit and you're good to go. If you really want to go one step beyond and banish those pesky wires along with your mobile phone then you'll be ecstatic to hear that the watch is Bluetooth compatible. You won't even have to fork out for the headset as it's included in the package.

This may just be the last gadget you ever need to buy. The future has arrived and it's a wristwatch.

Easy Online Shopping

Holiday season is over. And since I was busy during that time, I haven't bought anything for myself... and even for my godchildren. How evil of me.

Now, I am thinking of buying myself a gift... think of it as a late Christmas gift for myself. I was having a hard time though, since I said to myself that I only need to buy something that would fit into my budget.

While doing my online window shopping, my Aunt from Australia told me to try out ShopWiki. She's an online shopaholic and told me that I can find everything on that website. I was surprised that ShopWiki.com had everything on my list. And I mean everything! From shoes, jewelry and watches, laptops, etc... they have everything!

ShopWiki also has product reviews in case you're undecided on what to buy on your list. I've always wanted to buy a Wii-Fit and guess what? I found a review about the Nintendo Wii. Isn't it nice?

What are you waiting for? Go shop now at ShopWiki and while you're there, you may want to pick up that Nintendo Wii for me. You know where to contact me :)

FIGHT CANCER! prevent it, detect it, treat it RIGHT!

This month is National Cancer Awareness Month, so I dedicate this post to all the cancer patients and survivors around the world.I was informed by Ifoundme about this event so I decided to join her cause.

I just want to put a brief description about cancer.

According to wikipedia, Cancer (medical term: malignant neoplasm) is a class of diseases in which a group of cells display uncontrolled growth (division beyond the normal limits), invasion (intrusion on and destruction of adjacent tissues), and sometimes metastasis (spread to other locations in the body via lymph or blood). These three malignant properties of cancers differentiate them from benign tumors, which are self-limited, do not invade or metastasize. Most cancers form a tumor but some, like leukemia, do not. The branch of medicine concerned with the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer is oncology.

I just want to inform all the cancer patients that cancer is just another trial that knocks on our doors. Don't lose hope. We are here to support you in every way we can. Be strong. You are not alone.

Personal Friends turned bloggers

I've been blogging for almost 4 years now. It is Jepoy's fault that I got addicted into blogging. Jepoy has been my partner in crime for more than 6 years now. He also introduced me to Rocky, Glen, Mark and Pepper - some of his good friends that became my friends as well and bloggers eventually. I also introduced my bestfriend Rio into the blogging world. So far everybody enjoys blogging.

If you have time, please visit their respective blogs:

Imaginary water?

This video amazes me. It has an invisible water effect that looks like the boat floats even without water on the tank.

Just watch the video to see it for yourself. =)

The Safety Can

This is the world’s smallest approved fire blanket. Invented by Swedish Special Design AB. This fire blanket is compressed in a tin can so that it can be easily place on your kitchen or anywhere in the house. This equipment is called The Safety Can.

Every house and car should have at least one of this Safety Can for emergency use.

*Update*
Here's how to fold the balnket:
